And...I continually advise the use of written goals. And most people don't even have goals. They have hopes or wishes. "I want to write a novel." That's a wish. It's good to write that down, but it also needs to be backed up with an action plan. Something like, "I will set aside three hours a week to work on my novel and try to write at least 5000 words a month" is going to get you to that novel faster than just thinking about it.

However, one should never abandon one's dreams. One advantage of strolling through this life as long as I have is that I have seen dreams come true for people 20,30,even 40 years down the road. They never gave up on their dreams and put in the work and prayer to see them come to pass.Terri mainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05084883478386476891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3996557089584283540.post-46842861604016403692012-06-11T14:24:19.989-07:002012-06-11T14:24:19.989-07:00Man, it's a good thing I've recently given...Man, it's a good thing I've recently given up dreaming, otherwise I would feel challenged to do something.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06858312128672538453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3996557089584283540.post-35546458799351595002012-06-11T14:10:25.574-07:002012-06-11T14:10:25.574-07:00Love the post. It's funny. Especially ...Definitely relevant. It's funny. Especially as a blogger/writer, you start to wonder why you write when no one really reads what you write. You may, as I did, start looking around at how to build a following and a platform, etc. Then God showed me that the Holy Spirit was my platform and that my writing would be, primarily, out of obedience. Sure, I write for fun, but most of what I write isn't really from me. It's stuff God shows me. It certainly takes the pressure off of getting readers too. I suppose if God came up with the content, He can provide the readership as well.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06858312128672538453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3996557089584283540.post-83550797155216189982012-03-21T14:38:09.178-07:002012-03-21T14:38:09.178-07:00That is a good word, brother. One of the advantage...That is a good word, brother. One of the advantages of me retiring this year is that I will have more time to express some of the gifts I have other than teaching. I've been blessed with two passions: teaching and writing. God gave me 20+ years to pursue the one. Now, it seems only fair that I spend the next 20 pursuing the other.Terri mainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05084883478386476891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3996557089584283540.post-67333069806249892592012-03-10T12:14:26.549-08:002012-03-10T12:14:26.549-08:00Well...
